First Grade

At five years old, I should be entering Kindergarten this year in the public school system but last year she developed her math and language skills to the point I felt she was ready to be promoted to first grade-ish. Her curriculum will be modified to suit her needs, somewhere between kindergarten and first grade. 

Goals

• Math skill improvement, including addition and subtraction of larger numbers, telling time, money sense, patterns and fractions.
• Developing a strong, independent reader with the use of BOB books and read-alouds. 
• Increasing vocabulary and phonetic awareness with weekly spelling lists and activities.
• Learning about science through observation and experimentation.
• Studying how history and ancient civilizations have affected our own society and lives.
