Kindergarten

At four years old, A will be starting a light Kindergarten curriculum for the 2012-2013 school year. At the end of last year, she showed strong math skills for her age and has started recognizing sight and familiar words in books.

Goals

• Continued math practice, including addition, subtraction, telling time to the half hour, basic money and patterns.
• Phonetic awareness, including beginning and end sounds, letter blends and vowel sounds.
• Developing a strong, independent reader with the use of BOB books and read-alouds. 
• Fun! Learning through play and observation is a central part of our kindergarten experience!
